Journalism taught me to make sense of complex systems at speed. Independent publishing taught me when to slow down. Across Arab News, MacRumors, Destination KSA, Supercharged and Cupertino Lens, I have worked at both ends of that spectrum.

Reporting Apple at Internet Speed

MacRumors

Editor and News Reporter

2021-02

2023-01

completed

At MacRumors, I reported and edited daily coverage of Apple for a global audience.

From 2021 to 2023, I worked as an editor and news reporter at MacRumors, covering Apple across product launches, software, policy, labor, privacy and corporate strategy. The role demanded speed without sloppiness: finding the consequential detail, verifying it and explaining it clearly to a global audience.

Slowing Down Apple Coverage

Cupertino Lens

Founder, Editor and Writer

current

live

I publish an independent, ad-free publication about Apple’s design, culture, leadership and strategy.

Cupertino Lens is an independent, ad-free publication built around interpretation rather than velocity. I created its editorial thesis, voice, publishing system, newsletter, identity direction and product roadmap to give Apple analysis more context, history and intent.

Writing About Identity and a Changing Saudi Arabia

Arab News

Columnist

completed

I became an Arab News columnist while still a teenager, writing about identity, responsibility and a changing Saudi Arabia.

I wrote for Arab News about Saudi society, bilingual identity, youth, responsibility and national change while I was still a teenager.

Building an Independent Technology Publication

Supercharged

Founder

archived

I built Supercharged as my first serious attempt to create a publication of my own.

Supercharged was my first serious attempt to build a publication rather than only write for one. It grew quickly and gave me direct experience in editorial direction, identity, product, contributors, distribution and the operational cost of ambition. It ultimately did not continue, but it changed how I think about focus, sustainability and what an independent publication should be.
